Student LeadershipStudent leaders in charge of new initiates, meeting initiation, addressing the needs of the band's climate from the student perspective, initiation of social events, ensemble based fundraising. These are the primary student representatives in the ensemble. These position are elected by the student body. Secretaries In charge of assembling website content, meeting minutes, providing webmaster and publicist with needed materials, distributing and collecting daily attendance, maintaining information board in room and the showcase Librarians Maintains the band library and the music database, copies new charts, copies replacement music, catalogs current original charts. Treasurer Assists with fundraising distribution and collection, works with secretaries and Boosters throughout the year with various activities. Webmaster Maintains the band website: updates current photos, uploads content from secretaries. Inventory Specialist In charge of the storage facilities, including the instruments, supplies, repair materials as well as the organization and up-keep of the closets (including the band storage area located in the auditorium) Publicist In charge of advertisement: flyer design, distribution, posting in halls, postings in bandroom and digital advertisement production for webmaster Drum Majors Student leadership during rehearsals and at warm-up times. In charge of beginning most rehearsals, tuning, running drills and conducting the band on a regular basis. Section Leaders Student leadership of each section. In charge of running sectionals, tuning the section, helping new players increase skills. Section leaders are expected to create a positive climate within their section and foseter the idea of Pride, Musicianship, Respect and Excellence Guard Captains The section leaders of the Colorguard and Winterguard. These individuals have the same expectations as section leaders. Guard captains are included in the SAT in order to maintain proper communication with the large ensemble. The SAT SAT stands for Student Advisory Team which is comprised of the leadership positions listed above. This team has been created for the purpose of increasing student leadership within the department. This small leadership group meets weekly in order to discuss the needs of the group, assess the current initiatives and discuss future events, recommendations for change, issues and general business. How do you get involved? Students may apply for all positions except the presidential seats, which are elected by the band members. All placement will take place in September.
